Icon5 obd2a vs obd2b

I have a 2000 Integra and when i purchased it, the car came with a p28(obd1) ecu. Now that i need emissions i need the make the cars obd port to work. Since the car is a 2000 and i have obd2b plugs for the ecu i was wondering if i would run into any probelms running a obd2a ecu 97-99(i believe). I would just buy an obd2b ecu but i will have to deal with the whole immobilizer. So i was hoping to avoid that and just buy a ob2a ecu and just wanted to make sure i wouldnt run into any problems doing so. Thanks for all the help in advance.

You should be OK with the OBD-2A ECU and OBD-2B -> OBD2A ECU adapter harness.

The immobilizer is not hard to deal with. It’s a <$30 dummy chip, 10x easier than socketing an ecu.
