Default Getting conflicting info on a GENUINE HONDA BATTERY purchased from the parts Dept.

Hi so not the warranty that comes from a new car which I believe is 36 month.

Does anyone know for sure if you bought for a used car a NEW HONDA WARRANTY from the HONDA PARTS DEPARTMENT,

A) How long is that warranty?
B) Is it transferrable? And if so do they need any other proof of purchase?

I bought the car a few months ago and wasn't sure what I would need. The battery was purchased maybe 4 months ago.

Thanks!

Call your local Honda parts department and ask them if the warranty is transferable to your used car’s battery. I don’t think it is. It might be but usually parts are only warrantied for the original purchaser.

The original battery with the vehicle is covered for 3 year/36,000 miles period. None of the other warranties will cover battery failure after that point. Replacement batteries come with 3 year free replacement, with months 37-100 being prorated. Terrible pic for reference.

New car Honda battery warranty
That’s what it is for a new car purchased new or used within the year/ mileage limit.
However you aren’t asking that are you? So you bought your car used, and someone replaced the battery four months ago? What do you mean you got a new Honda warranty for a used car from the parts department? Is that something your dealership offered you through their dealership- like a certified used car?
If not a certified used car, then basically what year is it, what mileage, and a new battery was purchased from the parts department four months ago?
If it’s certified used and you have a “new car warranty” from that dealership then it should cover the battery.
If you mean the warranty is just on the battery, then you bought the car, as far as I know the warranty doesn’t transfer to the new owner. For example I have a Honda I bought used in 2017 with a five year battery, but when I asked the dealership in 2019 if it was covered they said no, only the original purchaser( and they had the name of the original purchaser in their database).
