Default convert to inline fuel filter from in fuel tank filter

I would like to modify the fuel system to remove the filter element from the assembly in the fuel tank and install an inline basic fuel filter before the fuel rail.

Could I just cut the fuel line and add an inline one with barbed ends and use some really good clamps designed for fuel lines? I think this would be a really beneficial conversion to make all future filter changes much easier. It may even cost less than buying a new in tank fuel filter.

Any advice? Could I use this filter? https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000C6MMDK/

Thanks in advance. I think the 7th gen filter setup and location is irritating and just sort of a pita to deal with I would like to do this project and eliminate the in tank filter. If successful this may be a good route for people with a similar stance on the in tank filter, i imagine im not the only one who finds it irritating... i would have much preferred a fuel filter like 5th and 6th gens..

Here are pictures of the fuel rail and the fuel line that i i would like to cut and add the inline filter to. I think this could work out.

its already a rubber line and I could just get a couple more clamps like the ones already there?
