Front pads
What type are the OEM front pads ? Metalic , SM, Ceramic ?

Regardless of the OEM, do other types work better ?

 

the factory pads are a combo of ceramic and metallic. as for whether or not others will work better, do you mean "perform better" without side effects like noise? I haven't seen any that will. I have not tried them all but I have seen a few different brands tried out. but unless you are doing some "hard driving" then why would you want anything other than factory?
most of the ones I've encountered from the aftermarket were either noisy as hell, or they didn't last as long as they should have.

 

Honda oem pads are made from organic materials. they are a lot softer on the rotors.

Most of the auto stores carry : Organic, Metallic, SM semi metallic, C Ceramic, SC semi Ceramic.....

 

The member quickhondaz is a Honda technician. Recommendation was to use the factory (oem) pads, unless you do hard driving.

Most newer Honda OEM pads are ceramic. The latest pads may have been reformulated.

 

Define work better? As in Stop better? Yes, usually with sacrifices in wear and dust.
