Default 1997 Accord EX 5-speed. 2.2 L4 (f22?) no spark

I’m new to Honda. And I have no idea how the distro works on these things. I have no spark past my distro. It was running fine about two weeks ago and now it won’t even fire. Please help!!? I have checked that I have power to the distro just nothing out. Will changing it fix this issue?

Well, this system works the same as any other vehicle, domestic or not for OBD2.

On that vehicle, I believe the coil is internal in the distributor. You can pull the cap off, and check the internal coil for spark as you attempt to crank the vehicle over. If you have power at the dist, but no spark at the coil, then you could have a bad coil which a new distributor would fix. You could also have a bad crank sensor which would also cause a no-spark condition.

Or you could test the ignition coil and ignition control module (ignitor) and replace them if they are faulty. No need to replace the entire distributor just yet. it has been my experience with these Accords that 9 times out of 10 it has been the ICM or coil not the other sensors inside the distributor that are the issue. That being said, remove the distributor cap and inspect the wiring inside. With it's age the wires could be dry rotted and cracked, if this is the case you will need a new distributor. As they do not sell the wiring harness separate.

A Honda Shop manual will come in very handy. they used to be available for download at one time. A quick search online for ICM and Ign coil test should give you the diagrams for testing. I have seen them here on H-T from time to time as well.
