D16Y8's do not have "VTEC" on the valve cover. So, what are your questions ?

Is the solenoid not hooked up? Is there a different ecu in it? Do you believe vtec isnt working for some reason? Your questions raise more questions from us

What year is your LX.

The LX does not come with a vtec motor, it's typically the D15B7 if it's 5th gen and would be a D16Y7 if it's 6th gen.

The D16Y8 motor is a vtec motor that was slapped into your car. There is a little bit of work to get the vtec working.

Someone probably changed the engines in your LX because they don’t include the D16Y8 from the factory.
You’ll have to add wiring to get the VTEC to work at the least.
