Default Best way to clean stripped interior in crv was flooded

Hi, so my 98 crv was flooded to roof when a levy broke. I got lucky as no water in oil n it started right up after I did a few checks. Haven't tried to do more than start n roll up power windows. Then stripped everything inside. Seats, carpet, all trim and metal plates, etc. 3-4 inches of slimy silt n mud everywhere. No matter how much I shop vac...theres mud places I can't get to easily with shop vac. I am thinking about rinsing interior so can get mud out of crooks n crannies. I plan on running 40 quart dehumidifier after I get it clean for days. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Area where having trouble getting all mud out with shop vac.

Can i risk spraying water here to clean

Flooded to the roof and now you are worried about pressure washing it? Just start pressure washing. Any damage that was going to be done by getting wet is already done. Leaving the mud in place is going to be far worse than things getting wet a second time.

Wow thats horrible. Amazing the engine didn't get water in it, oil floats so there could be some H2o in the bottom of the pan. The gear boxes could also have it as they are vented. All the electrical would need to be removed I would think, at least all the computer boxes, the instrument panel hvac etc.
Huge work you have to do there. You need a car rotisserie so you could spin it around to flush that muck out. A person has to be attached to or not have enough insurance to want to deal with that huge amount of work. Keep us posted on how it works out. I'd like to hear more details on what you are doing with it.
I am not a fan of going crazy on a car with a pressure washer, depending on the amount of pressure it can do more damage than good. A good old garden hose will flow more and may even wash it better. You will need to use some protectant like WD-40 or ? to keep some of the things from rusting badly as you go about the cleaning process. Blowing it dry and having it inside a heated garage will do more than a dehumidifier, and to have a couple of small space heaters blowing in it too with doors open or windows down. I suppose a good wet dry vacuum will help getting the water and dirt out as you work at flushing it.
Spinning it up on its side would be much faster for flushing it out. The final wash will be with soap and hand scrubbing to get the parts clean.

I once bought a 4Runner that had some funky electrical problems. I tore apart the rig and discovered a nice silt line halfway up the body panels under the interior panels.

Cleaned it up and sold it off, did not want to deal with the rest of the electrical problems I didn’t know about.

This is not worth it. Total it out through insurance. If you don’t have insurance that’ll cover it, clean it as best you can, but be prepared to let it go.
