My '05 suffered a sidewall flat and the donut was inconveniently no bueno. From a nearby salvage yard I purchased an unused donut from an '05 and a decent-condition mounted full-size from an '04. Confident I had resolved both problems, I returned to my van and was chagrined to discover that the wheel (aka, rim) from the '04 does NOT mount to the hub of an '05, even though both are 65R16! (The donut from the '05 fi perfectly, of course.) When I got home I measured distances--sure enough, the wheels are different! Who knew!

While the stud threads are identical, the studs are longer on the '05; thus '04 nuts aren't suitable for an '05.

One again, ignorance and presumption serve as a violently annoying teacher.
