Just bought my 2nd ep3 and it's been a few years since the last one and I was wondering what the stock rev limiter is as mine is revving over 7k

 

The EP3 has the balance shaft type oil pump, which is not the oil pump for rpm's over 8000rpm for any engine with balance shafts except the Euro R K20a. It has a different PN on the balance oil pump and it is better oil pump than the A3 balance shaft oil pump. However, the K20a3 engine in the ep3 does not have oil squirters, weaker rods so I would recommend keeping the redline under 7500rpm. The crankshaft in the EP3 K20a3 is not a strong as the DC5 K20a2.

 

appreciate that info but what is the stock rev limiter. I'm trying to see if my car has car tune on it. My car revs to 7100-7200 rpm and I'm not sure if that's stock or tuned.

 

7200rpm I believe.
