Default 1995 civic idling low and sluggish acceleration

Hello everyone. I’ve got a 95 civic ex. D16z6 engine. Once my car is hot the idle goes low and feels like the car is about to stall and then jumps up to around 1200 rpm’s. I have no CEL. Whenever I try to accelerate its jumpy and feels like power cuts out and once I get over 3k rpm’s it drives fine. Ive replaced the distributor cap and rotor, fuel pump 2-3k miles ago and plugs are changed regularly as well.

IACV is likely not functioning properly.

Yeah I cleaned that and it felt like it drove better for a day. And it’s back on the same thing it was doing. I guess I should just replace it.

So lately when I get into the car to start it the fuel pump doesn’t prime immediately. I have to sit there and wait for a few minutes before I crank it over. Might be a clue to the issue or just another problem I’m not sure.

That is more likely Capacitors failing inside the ECU... eventually, it will not start at all.

Thank you! Is it possible those issues are connected?

Yes, if your fuel pump stops running intermittently while the engine is running, fuel pressure will drop and the car will not respond. Pull your ECU and evaluate whether or not the capacitors have leaked. If the electrolyte has gotten on the board and been there for a while, it can damage the traces and the ECU may not be worth saving. If there are no damaged traces, have the capacitors replaced.

So I checked the ECU no signs of blown capacitors. What are other things I should check/test?

The car has 120k miles on it. The acceleration and idle issues have progressively gotten worse. The problem is more noticeable whenever there is a load on the engine like the AC.
