I just pulled this from another 88 civic hatch from a local junkyard. What’s the the rubber plug thing to the left of the drain plug? I don’t remember seeing that on my OE pan. Please someone check if you have it on your OE pan before I put it on. Thank you!
in junkyards before the cars make it to the yard
the fluids are drained first
on all the engines they punch a hole thew the pans to drain the oil
then they plug the hole with the rubber peace
its easier than picking out the correct wrench for each car
now they only do this on steel pans
on aluminum pans there forced to get the right wrench or allen key ^_-
if you still have your old pan its better to use that
because the rubber plug they use will leak after a few months
