Icon5 How do I remove fender flares without damaging paint?

The flares were attached by adhesive tapes. Would you please let me know the best way to remove them without damaging the paint underneath? I searched all over the internet. Some suggested using hair dryer, fishing line, dental floss, Goo Gone, WD-40, or gasoline. I'd appreciate any info from experts who removed automotive adhesive tapes installed decades ago.

Thank you for your help!

Hot sunny day, they will peel right off.

To remove the remaining adhesive get one of the 3M adhesive remover wheels.

3M 03612

Just did this to a same generation MDX. The water spot build up along the adhesive will be a pain to remove. Recommend chemical removal with etching mag wheel cleaner and then a heavy cut compound.
