Loud tick tick tick sound in engine bay - Honda Civic 2016 LX
Hi
I'm new to this forum. I have a Honda Civic 2016 LX - noticed a tick, tick, tick noise in the engine bay while the car is idling. Also just notice there seems to be some kind of white liquid which has sprayed out from around the windscreen washer Driver Jet (but not directly from it) it's hard to identify where exactly its coming from as it has dried leaving white spot residue. But the loud tick sound is of concern. Does anyone know what these are about? Its been a really great car so far (had it since new) Thanks for the help in advance.

It may be a normal ticking sound and that’s just how the engine sounds. Although without hearing it, I can’t make a determination. You might be able to post a you tube video with little background noise and I can see if I notice what you describe.
Since your car is a 2016, you could try your local Honda dealership, and the mechanics there should be able to determine if the “ticking” sound is problematic very easily, and probably for free while doing an oil change.
As far as the fluid near the windshield washer spouts, have you noticed any change in it, is it getting worse, or is it a one time spray? It could be road debris.
I’m not aware of any fluids that are white in color that would be leaking, however it might be something that is a different color, and when sprayed on the hood it appears white.

I'm noticing the same ticking on my 2020 LX 14k miles. Its more heard when I'm inside with windows rolled up, With the hood popped i can hear the ticking which to me sounds like injectors ticking but still sounds normal, but when I'm inside the ticking sounds a bit different so I'm not sure where the sound is coming from, it doesn't really change if the engine revs just while its idling. Sounds kind of like my B series with loud injectors or LMA's ticking a bit too loud..
I might drop it off since my warranty is still good and see if its something i should be concerned with..
