Default Fuse 15 keeps blowing after I bottomed out

So recently I bottomed out really bad at about 20mph and after pulling over, and stating my car again I noticed my gauges flickering and the cel on. Speedometer no longer works and it sometimes just jumps all over while I'm driving. Checked fuse 15 and it's blown. Replaced it, reset computer and cleaned VSS plug with air and contact cleaner. Same thing. Runs for a few seconds and then fuse blows.(still runs fine) I've looked for a sticky for fuse 15 and I still don't really understand what causes it. Most of the links dont work. Also have codes for upstream and downstream o2 sensor, vss sensor and p1298. Any help would be appreciated. 1996 civic dx d16y7 manual trans

Not sure why I can't find a sticky thread about that fuse 15 everyone says is notorious.

There was a service bulletin issued decades ago: TSB 99-029.

However, a blown fuse can also be caused by a short somewhere else than what is described in the bulletin. The wire to the O2 sensors may be suspect too since you mentioned bottoming out, Fuse No. 15 also protect the heated O2 sensor circuit.

thanks, i found a link to the fuse 15 thing in the comments if the faq. However, i just jacked up my car and it looks like my lower o2 sensor is broke off after I scraped it. Does that mean that it's just the lower o2 causing the short and blowing the fuse? Or would that only pull a code for the o2 sensor?

The lower O2 sensor wire or sensor probably is the culprit for the blown fuse. Unplug the sensor to see.

Also check the wiring there.

The o2 Sensor is part of the circuit for the alternator, VSS, and i think ELD. I shorted it before and it did exactly what is happening to you. Make sure no o2 sensor wires are exposed and shorting or you will keep blowing the fuse. Fix that and replace fuse and your all good.
