Hello, can somebody please help me too identifying this motor...I’m not sure if my previous post was uploaded correctly.

I believe it s a JDM B20B Engine & GSR 5 speed manual transmission. But the red valve cover on top has me thinking it may possibly be a B18C Type-R. I only think this because of something I read earlier today that said you could identify by the red cover.
im a slight, not entirely, noob with All this, so bare with me!

im doing a swap and I’m trying to figure out the motor+transmissions value.
the motor is at about 120K
trans is at the same I believe 120k.

This website might help you to find the engine code on the block and then identify it. Lots of people have painted their valve covers or got a used Type R valve cover (hard to find and expensive if OEM) so there is a chance this is not a Type R motor, especially if it is Japanese (higher likely hood of finding used Type R parts).

so my motor has 318B stamped on it, and underneath that it’s got 1403407 stamped.
I’ve been looking online and can’t determine what exactly the 318B is.
