I'm going to own a Type R again
I traded my S2000 for a type r. It's currently in transport. I'm beyond happy to be the proud owner of a type R again. I had a '98 R back in '00 and it was stolen in '05. I had driven it 100k miles. I went to ITR expo 2 & 3. I've missed driving a R since. The R that I traded for isn't original nor mint but I don't care. I will post some photos when it arrives next week. I make this post because I'm so excited to be part of this community again. If there is a '22 Expo, I will be there. My plans with the R are to track it as much as I can. I have a really nice 4piston k24 for it ready to go. ❤️
It already has a stock K24. My new engine should make considerable more power. I think the original engine is under powered and boring but I love the chassis. I remember when this forum had the motto of burn it down. I don't care about the perceived value. We are only alive for a short time and want to enjoy myself.
Ahh, well if it already is k-swapped then go nuts. Sounds like a fun project. I wish k-swaps were easy to legalize in CA. I'd love me an N/A 300+whp build.

I would agree that in 2021 if you happened to find a good condition bone stock ITR, it would be counter-intuitive to buy it for modifying. If it's already lacking the original engine or something though, may as well YOLO it. The car will be more fun from a driving/performance perspective anyway.
But if you take the time, you can get it referee’d you really just need a donor car to make sure you have all the right equipment.
Now if you are reffed then yes its not legal and you wont pass and will have to swap the car back 100% stock. I know for a DC2 to be bar legal in CA the DC2 has to have the full dash converted from the RSX as well as the fuel tank and all emission related parts respectfully.
With my supercharged Integra i had it smoged under the table by a friend of mine and he somehow put the registration in a loop so every other year it comes in the mail as just a renewal! i just go to the local supermarket that has the DMV kiosk and i pay the $100 for my tags! after the 4th year i started to get confused as to why i diddnt have to get a smog. Its been over 9 years and just the other month i got my registration again as a renewal only i wish i knew how he did it cause he had a stroke one day and is bed ridden now which is sad he was a super cool guy very popular in the Honda Community especially the S2000 scene.
