Icon5 I need help building my b18b1

Hey guys so I recently bought a 1990 Honda civic with a 1992 Integra engine, its the b18b1. Im trying to build the car to where it can be street legal but fast and fun. I was recommended to start with building the motor but I have no idea where to even start. Should I get all new forged parts, or would I be able to make good power with only some. I new to the car world and community and I'm working on a budget here. Are there any certain sites I should buy parts from? Please no hate im trying to learn.

where are you from?
what is considered street legal? (from where you are located)
what do you consider fast?
what do you consider fun?
what is your budget?

Im from Colorado, and i do believe its street legal, I want it to be fast as in 350 to 450 whp. and fun as in something that can reliably zip around. My budget is fairly flexible but as for building the motor i was hoping to keep it around 5ish thousand.

a simple rod/piston setup with a turbo will get you to 350.
if you are looking to not go turbo, then just forget it.

i assume your budget does not include maintenance items? ie. fluids, headgasket, (might as well do wp/tb), head studs, etc.

cost will depend if you are doing the work yourself or not, and if you will be putting a turbo kit together or buying a complete kit.

5k budget is doable...just depends on parts being used. you can come up on great deals buying 2nd hand if you have the time to wait for that deal to pop up

as for legality, i am unsure what the rules and regulations are for colorado. may want to do some research before you pull the trigger and order a bunch of parts.

Anywhere in specific I should get rods and pistons from? I dont want to spend money on something that isnt going to last. Also is there a turbo kit that you would recommend? also should I even consider getting different cams or a crank?
Thank you

i think you should start looking in the forced induction section.
there are a lot of useful information and many post on what people use and their opinion.

You can keep it as simple as using 6-8 psi on the bone stock engine as long as the engine is healthy and you dont beet on it it will last for some time but dont take my word for it.

You can have the block sent to a shop that can install CSS

Cylinder Support System – cylindersupportsystem.com,

CSS is a cheaper than sleeving the engine and can support up to 600+ HP

Install ARP head studs and assemble the engine, Contact Go auto works GO-AUTOWORKS Street Turbo Kit Honda Civic Acura Integra Del Sol CRX D16 B16 B18 (go-autoworks-store.com) for a reliable quality turbo kit suited for your needs.

Have the engine tuned on Hondata. You can have a quality base map created by Phearable.net: Honda & Acura Performance Solutions and or even have them remote tune your engine! I used their custom base map on my boosted B series for a long time till i got more mods and had a local tuner re tune it.

There is no reason to use Hondata for OBD1 anymore, just use HTS.
