i plan on upgrading the headunit this winter. For the sake of staying period correct with my car, im taking out the factory cassette / cd player combo and plan to install an alpine cassette deck and cd changer. The alpine unit is 35 x4, is there any benefit to installing an aftermarket amp that is roughly the same amperage? I think the 35 x4 is peak on the alpine (could be wrong on this), but its the RMS level on the amp. The amp i'm looking at is an older kicker amp, and i'm pretty sure they conservatively rate their output. i have another older kicker amp powering my kicker substation, just not sure if there is any real benefit to add the second aux amp for the car's speakers.
