Default First time doing Front Wheel Bearing/Hub assembly.

Hello,
i have a 2007 Honda Civic LX 4dr Sedan 1.8L Engine.

So i was attempting to do my first Front Wheel Bearing removal & installation using the MASTER FRONT WHEEL DRIVE BEARING ADAPTER KIT - MODEL 78825 from Astro Pnuematic Tool Company.
I've never done a Wheel Bearing/Hub removal/installation before.

So in the picture i have below, you can see that you can take out the bearing in 2 ways. My question is.. Can i remove the bearing with either of the methods? Or do i have to pick a side? if so, which side must i use and how am i suppose to know for future vehicles, is this something you have to find in a repair manual?

You will need to pull the bearing out of the face of the knuckle on a Civic. There is a flange on the rear that the bearing bottoms out on.

Yes thank you! I saw the flange! I didn't notice it before. Upon closer inspection i see it and the groove where the snap ring goes into. Thanks for that man!!

One more question, its kind of rusty in the grooves and the area where flange is at.
Would it be okay to use a "Dremel" rotary tool with a sander or wire brush or would buffing/grooving/scratching the inside of the knuckle/hub hole be really a bad idea?

So im following along with this guy, if you click the link it will take you to the timeline where he is installing the wheel bearing hub.

I have a diagram that came with the same kit he is using.
and the Diagram shows as follows...

If you click and view his video. You will see his setup is reversed.. the bolt is on the opposite side compared to what the manual shows me and also the cup piece that says (78825-07) is not what he is using.. instead he seems to be using another disc/plate/bushing. So im wondering.. is his setup correct? or is this something that he overlooked and it didnt matter to him because it got the job done anyway? Im just very new to this and curious if i go along with the manual if i will be ok.

What matters is supporting the inner race of the bearing while you draw the hub in. The rest is whatever is most ergonomic for you. Don't forget to install the snap ring BEFORE pressing the hub into the bearing.
