1991 ED Sedan d15b4 randomly lost power and idles rough
Hey everyone, I’ve been looking for a solution to this problem for a while and I thought I might give this forum a go. This is my first post so I apologise if I fail to communicate anything properly
About 2 days ago I was driving home, and randomly my car started to run really rough, especially below 2000rpm; it felt like it was going to stall (my car is auto, btw). It also lost heaps of low end power, as accelerating to 100km/h now feels like a struggle. However, when I put the car in park, the car idles correctly.
Initially I thought it could be an issue with the fuel filter, but replacing that had no effect. I was told by some friends that it could possibly be a vacuum leak but I’m yet to check. Another possibility could be a dirty/clogged carby, but I’m not sure.
I’m honestly really stumped, and I prefer not to take it into a shop to have it looked at professionally as I’d rather try to fix it myself. Would anyone have any idea as to what could be wrong, or could anyone point me in the right direction? If there’s anything I left out or any additional information I need to give, let me know
Thanks

Check your bypass diaphragm google it. Open the black air horn on top of your throttle body. Start your car let it run. The bypass diaphragm is supposed to open the first throttle butterfly when the engine is hot. See if it’s opening aka working.
