Default Running NOS on. Stock d16y7

So I was considering getting nitrous for my d16 but didn’t know how much would be safe without a tune. I have an upgraded fuel system, exhaust, and intake but idk if that would be safe enough. I wanna do a wet shot as an extra safety measure but I’m still unsure about the turn out. I would run a turbo but the point is to do a sleeper build. My car is really quiet even with the upgraded exhaust system other than when I’m revving high. Any suggestions on what amount is safe? The motor is still stock internals with over 200k miles. At least, that’s what the odometer says but when we tore it down everything was in really good condition. Even went through a few tests and sure enough the engine is running like new.

Without a tune? 25 shot is probably pushing what is safe.

How far down did you tear the motor to look at it? What tests did you go through? What upgrades to your fuel system do you have?

Back in the day we would run 50-75 wet shots on stock D-series engines. It's pretty risky to do without a wideband, because you down know what kind of AFR you are getting. The stock rods are not good for more than about 200 horsepower.

Make sure you're using a wet shot. Follow the directions for jet sizes, and start with the lowest setting. Use a WOT activation switch and not a push button on the dash. Do not spray nitrous in the low RPM ranges. Doing so creates a massive amount of torque and without revs, you're begging to bend/break a rod or piston. If you're serious about it, spend the $200 and get a a wideband so you can monitor your AFR.
