B16b intake and cams?
Today I noticed the b20b in my hatch seems to have blown a head gasket. Although I've really wanted to get more use out of the motor, it looks like this is the push needed to motivate me to drop in my B16b. Only problem is that the b16b I've got has no cams and no intake manifold. From what I've read on here, the oem intake and cams are so good there's hardly a reason to upgrade, but what I've noticed is that B16b parts are extremely hard to source, as well as most aftermarket offerings don't mention compatibility with the B16b. My question to you all coming from some one who doesn't have a whole lot of money to blow, what do you guys recommend I do to build this motor. It's just going to be put in my hatch and used as a weekend toy/occasional track/auto x car. Reliability is my main goal here, don't care about squeezing any more power than stock out. Could I just run a skunk2 vtec intake and their upgraded cams without issue, as that seems like it's just the simplest and still cost effective, but at the end of the day I've never built a b series and want opinions from those with experience here in 2021.
Go with Skunk2 tuner 1 cams! they should be a slight upgrade but nothing huge, these cams are even CA street legal! very mild cams. Very close to CTR specs i hear so it should be a good upgrade if you go aftermarket. Same with the manifold, either go with a after market or find a OEM Type R manifold.
