Icon5 Bump in power after VTEC disengages

Running a k24a2 with Hondata and am currently working my way through the auto learning process until I can get the car professionally tuned. Currently activated the high speed ignition block and so I was doing some 5th gear pulls. My VTEC window is currently set from 4500 to 5500 RPM. I noticed that when I hit 5500 there was a noticeable increase in power once VTEC disengaged. Feeling more like it was kicking in than disengaging. Currently coming into VTEC is more noticeable in tone than power in 5th. Tried looking up this phenomenon and couldn't find any information. Clearly the engine is happier with the normal cam profile at that speed so I'm not sure if narrowing the window is the way to go or if I should shift it down to 4300. Any advice would be appreciated.

Is your cam angle also changing? There are a LOT of variables with the K series.

Toss the included Hondata tune map on for the TSX and call it day.

You should stop "Tuning" and take the car to a Professional before you damage the engine.

VTC is locked to 45 degrees.

It's been extremely hard to find a shop to tune the thing near where I am. Car is about to get stored for the winter and I'm just trying to do what I can before next season. Believe me, if I could find a shop within a reasonable distance to get it tuned I'd have done it by now. Too many places saying they're going to get a dyno, or its arrived but hasn't been set up yet only to never actually get finished. Some shops won't even touch a car with a swapped engine. My setup is pretty tame, so I'm just trying to do the best I can with the hondata base tune.

A2 doesn't have 45 degrees of cam angle to adjust.... If it does you are likely plowing the valves into the pistons.

There is so much to this. Go watch some Evan's Tuning or similar to gain some knowledge of how this all works before it gets really expensive.

Everything I read suggests that 45 degrees is safe on the k24a2. My VTC gear is machined to 45 degrees to prevent going past that range. Still just looking for suggestions other than "get it tuned", which currently isn't an option.
