my 2000 gs-r has been having some issues related to the ecu. With my buddies obd2a p72 and my obd1 p72 i get no CEL whatsoever nor any issues with idle or driveability. My obd2b p72 isnt as great, it always throws a IACV and too lean code. The car has no mods besides a short ram with k&n filter, dc 4-2-1 headers with 2 1/2 outlet, and a test pipe. I happened across another obd2b p72 for free and was curious whether just swapping the immobilizer board would allow me to use this new fresh ecu instead of the oe one that has a fair amount of corrosion inside.
Yeah. Someone posted a how to not too long ago in this subforum. I don't think you can swap them between OBD2A-B though. Deleting it altogether is also an option: https://www.xenocron.com/products/ob...=5071740829733
I did one of these on a P75 ecu for smogging my Civic, no issues.
