Radiator cooling fan not working but car doesn’t over heat
I am new to the page and Hondas in general. I’m not sure when the fan stopped working as I never really paid attention since car wasn’t over heating. Recently it stopped working and I only noticed after I pulled the dashboard out of the car to replace my heater box since winter was around the corner in my state and temps were getting chilly in the morning. After installing dash I went to burp the radiator to make sure it had no air pockets and that’s when I noticed the fans didn’t come on after the car ran for about 30 min. Car doesn’t over heat and shows temp gauge a little under the halfway mark. I jumped the fan plug directly to the battery and they do turn on, they also turn on when pressing the relay and jumping the cooling fan switch on the thermostat housing. I replaced the fan switch with a new one from autozone and noticed the plug does not clip when I plug it up. Need help ASAP to fix the issue please and thank you. Sorry for reviving old news tat have been covered in other threads but new to the page
I wouldn't hurry in replacing parts, especially since the fan does turn on when you bypass the signal to the relay. If the car is not hot (much less over-heat) that temperature not over the halfway mark, there really is not good reason for the fan to turn on, is there?
I suggest just drive around and see if temperature obviously rises during daily use. By obvious I mean the temperature gauge needle quite obviously pointing upwards than about-level. Also try keeping heater on and see if there's good heat from vents, which is proof that coolant is flowing through system.
By the way, you don't have a reason to suspect your temp gauge right? (I mean, it indicates low for cold start and slowly rises to mid-level after start etc etc )
