Default Oil Pressure Sending Unit / Switch.

Question. So my 98 D16Y8 recently began leaking quite a substantial amount of oil. I notice the leak from afar and immediately assumed components at fault. Long story short, the oil pressure sending unit / switch, was completely shot, so currently awaiting on new part. Question is, how much oil could that particular switch begin to actually leak? Cuz this was quite a substantial amount of oil. Figured if it involves "pressure" it is in fact not impossible for such a tiny part to cause such a mess. Maybe I'm wrong...not quite sure.

If the threaded hole for the sensor were left open it would pump all the oil out in less than 30 seconds. So yeah that sensor could potentially be a big leak.

ok. thanks for confirming that. I really wasn't too sure and didn't know if I was overthinking it. turns out, the sensor was somehow cracked...from what I'm assuming is normal wear and tear.,, again, thanks
