2012 CRV. 130K miles. Alternator died. Got stuck on the road but the charging system warning light never came on. I didn't know there was a problem until the battery was just about dead. The light in the dash itself is fine as it turns on for a few seconds when the car is started. But for some reason the warning circuit failed when the alternator died. I later reconfirmed the problem when I recharged the battery and checked that the alternator was only putting out 11 V yet the warning light on the dash was off.

Has anyone ever seen this or know what the issue could be??
