97 Accord intermittent no start
Team, I have a 97 non vTec Accord that may not be getting the signal to the main relay to close allowing the car to start. 1HGCD7235VA006817
I am a fairly advanced DIY tech and hate parts changing. But.....we all learn right?
Ignition switch is good, main relay is good, fuse panel in driver kick panel good, fuel pump runs when activated.
Some times when it will not start the main relay is silent with no fuel pump cycle. Continue to pause a minute with the key on, hear main relay 'thump", pump cycles car starts.
So before I assume the ECU is bad, is there any thought? Yes, different main relays and ignition switches have been tried.
I appreciate the guidance, Daniel

Mine would act up when humid or raining. Cost me 20 and had a 30 day warranty.
good news is there will be no programming required
Solved, It was the ECU. back probed the main relay and found inconsistent output fuel pump power key on, pump cycle.
Key on some delay in initiating the pump prime sequence, some no signal (power) at all.
Replaced ECU, instant power to the F pump from the main relay, pump prime normal.
All is good!! Thank you team!
