Default [D15] ECT gauge removal

Im trying to remove the ect gauge sending unit. The sensor seems fragile, and the covering is cracked at some areas.
How do you remove the cable from it ? Simply by pulling it ? I want to make sure before pulling too hard.

That is the temp gauge sensor and yes you just pull it off. It's a 1 wire connector, pops right off. The ECT is actually the 2 wires sensor to the right of the 1 wire you are talking about. The ECT tells the ECU the engine temperature. While the 1 wire only operates a gauge in the cluster for the driver.
