Default 2002 Honda Accord LX 2.3L cruise control

Had issues with brake light staying on an cruise control not working (cruise light would come on for few seconds then go out. Ok now I've replaced the small pad an the switch for the brake, I've also replaced the master cylinder cap cause it wold lock down
No brake light now. Still don't have Cruise control
Any ideas? I've not had to mess with Cruise control on this 2002 Honda Accord LX 2.3L
The cruise control button on left side does light up

The clutch pedal also has the same kind of switch and pad as the brake, these both need to fully depress in order to activate the cruise control, have you checked that?

I was referring to the switches on the brake and clutch pedals, they both need to be pressed in completely in order for the cruise to activate. When you let go of the brake and clutch pedal (take your foot off completely), the pedal is supposed to press in the switch. When the little tab is missing, it doesn't activate the switch and the car thinks you're still depressing (pressing down) the clutch or brake pedal.

As for the main cruise control switch on the left of the dimmer, you can pop the tab out with a flathead screwdriver and check the connection to make sure it has good contact. Always start with the easy stuff.

Yes brake pedal is depressed
Sometimes the dash light lights up and sometimes not and sometimes the length of time it stays on varies. I can push it one time on the steering wheel it will light up for few seconds the I can push it right afterwards and it won't light up
