Skipping brake fluid replacement after testing?
The other day, I brought a car to the mechanic for a regular oil and brake fluid change. The brake fluid is 2 years old.
However, the mechanic tested the fluid with a tester and said that the fluid is still good, so I don't need to replace it. The brakes on the car feels fine.
What do you guys think? Is the mechanic right? Or should I have insisted on changing the fluid anyway? I'd like to save the environment and a few dollars if the change is really unnecessary. Of course, I wouldn't sacrifice my safety over it.

Unless you cooked/boiled the fluid there's no reason to change, with the tester the mechanic used he is looking for moisture. Brake fluid is hygroscopic which will absorb water through the air, ie maybe a leak in the system, loose brake reservoir cap and age
