Hey what's up everyone? I've been working on getting my swap finished. In the process, had a bad chassis ground and some things got messed up. My CKP, and TDC sensors got messed up and weren't doing anything when tested with a voltmeter. Tested continuity, AC and DC. I didn't have the cash at the time for a new distributor, so I did what I could. Traded some stuff I wasn't using for a new distributor. Anyway now I'm having troubles getting the sensors to align properly. The distributor I got was a brand new OBD2 D Series. My car is a B16A2. So, does anyone have any tips on how to get them aligned perfectly without the use of an oscilloscope meter? I keep getting a misfire and a MIL for code 4 crank position sensor on HTS. I've tried alignment on all 3 sensors in different ways, and I have been taking it on and off too many times now. I've got the sensors as close as possible to the magnets where they feel like there are notches when you spin the shaft. It ran great around the block a few times and then it started doing it. Am I missing something else, I was thinking of trying a test wiring to the ECU for that sensor, just to test the wiring. Even though the wires tested fine for continuity. In the pictures, is the distributor with the new parts. I used OBD0 connectors BC I couldn't find a OBD2 harness connector and that was all I had to work with. Thanks
Re: Need Tips for OBD1 or OBD2 distributors sensors
I don't know if anyone has seen this or if anyone even on here anymore since we have Facebook these days. But I figured it out today, it ended being the wiring from the CKP sensor at distributor plug to the ECU. I aligned the sensors to what looked pretty much what I thought looked center, and replaced wiring and now it's great and drove the car all day today. Did good
