Im about to hoist my engine using a crane.
I dont have the same brackets as shown in the service manual.
Is this bracket on the transmission side able to support the lifting ?
Also where do you usually buy hoist brackets since i don't have the one near the valve cover on the timing belt side.
Do you order them from honda ? or any universal one will do ?

 

The hook on the transmission is the lifting point.

On the head just run a bolt through the chain and snug it down. That is how I have always done it.

Will a lifting bracket be better? Yeah for sure. Required? Nope, not at all.

 

Good to know, any idea what could be the bolt diameter for the hoist point on the head side ?
Service manual is telling 8 x 1.25mm, i tried many M8 bolts OEM/After market they but don't fit in, too much play.

 

10mm x 1.25 pitch. Find a Honda/Acura flange bolt with a 14mm head... it will fit.
