New Zealand P2M ECU for D16y8 swap???
Hello everyone,
There's nothing involving this here or elsewhere I can find, so any help would be glorious. I have a 97 DX Coupe with a D16y8 swap and I need to pass emmisions. Ive got the dreaded p0435 code for ftp sensor since the DX doesn't have the sensor as a lot of you know. I came across a New Zealand Civic 1.6L VTEC Manual ecu( P2M) so I figured I'd try it out to save from swapping evap parts/sensor from another Civic. I've read that JDM and NZ ecus dont look for the FTP sensor. The car ran but cannot be obd2 read by scanner. My scanner cannot communicate/read anything while this P2m ecu is used, which means emmisions wont be able to read anything and I will most likely fail. Does anyone know to read obd2 codes while running this New Zealand P2M ecu or know what the difference is between Usdm obd2 and NZ obd2 cars? And if anyone has done the 96-98 d16y8 swap to a 96-98 dx, what all evap parts did you have to swap to not throw any cel's? Just the ftp sensor or the canister/lines/everything etc? Id rather not try the potentiometer trick because Ive heard mixed results. Thanks guys.
