'90 Accord speedometer inaccurate
Front wheel drive automatic. The speedometer registers speeds inaccurately. until you hit 55, the speedo is 5-8 slower than actual speed, past 55 it registers higher than its actually going. And just today for no clear reason, the speedometer randomly stopped working for a moment but ONLY the speedometer. The rest of the cluster was working fine, no CEL, and all lights are working on the cluster itself. I checked the fuses, nothing is dead, missing or loose. Everything else on the car that is electrical seems to be working fine, so I figured I would just have to take it to a mechanic monday, and then it randomly started working. No indication what the issue might have been.
Was told it could be the speed sensor, and a google search or two didnt turn up a relevant topic here so I made my account to ask.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Mines the opposite, it's accurate until 45-50 mph, anything higher and my speedo reads 5 or 6mph high. I found this out using a gps app and the clocks they use at construction sites. But it never bothers me enough to look into it.
