Rims/wheels slightly damaged. Causes steering wheel to vibrate/shimmy highway speeds
So I just got brand new tires on my 94 eg civic because my mechanic told me one of the tires was bad and was causing the vibration at highway speeds. I just bought the car^. The new tires did not fix the problem. So I went back and apparently there is damage to the rims, dont know how they missed that when balancing. They told me it’s safe to drive but the vibration will just be annoying until i get it fixed.
Is it actually safe to drive?
Should I bother fixing the wheels. (They are expensive aftermarket ones) or just buy a new set of the same size and throw the brand new tires on em.
