Hi from me and my 99 Honda Civic manual sedan Bae/advice on CV axles
Hi everyone, I am new here..
my name is Andrea I have a 99 Honda Civic Ex 1.6L sedan manual , that I absolutely love and adore ❤ most up to date has
- a new single stage Exedy racing clutch(with less than 1000kms on it)
- new rear main seal done at time of clutch job
And then my R lower balljoint snapped backing into my stall, and she sat for awhile.
-------
Currently/Most recent work I've done on my Civic trying to get her as my daily going again are
- both lower balljoints( rented a balljoint press from Partsource and it did the job!)
- replaced L front driver's hub and knuckle AKA spindle
(as the old axle was seized in the hub)
- replaced L driver's CV axle and had a bugger of a time getting the new one back in, it's sitting about 3/16" away from the housing....I'm wondering if since it locked into place, is it possible that the boot housing where the axle goes is pushed in? Or A couple videos I watched said the snap ring might be bent and may have to take it out, reshape it and put it back in, any thoughts on this or has anyone had a similar issues??
2nd thing is since the old axle and hub was seized I got a new/used one from the wrecker, go to button everything back up, and the hub is a different size so my rotor won't fit on now, super weird as 96-2000 are said to be interchangeable,,, that ones perplexing to me anyone have any ideas?? Thanks in advance so much!
[I also have a 2002 Acura TL 3.2L and 2 other 5th gen civics, and a 1990 Chev Celebrity Eurosport wagon with a 3.1LF-I] You could say I'm crazy 4 carz lol.
