Default 96 ITR brakes questions

EDIT:Update!!! turns out I was completely wrong and the bearings do NOT fit!! The spindle assembly on the type r trailing arms is way longer at 3 inch, versus the non-type r one being 2.something inches. The GSR bearing on the type r spindle had an enormous amount of play. I ended up having to track down non type r trailing arms and using those instead. If anybody has just the spindle assembly for sale, pm me

Hi there. I'm risking being flamed but I've been reading online and asking people and nobody seems to have the same opinion. Information seems to be both scarce and contradictory about the jdm 96 itr setup

i have a civic ek (canadian ex) with stock brakes and suspension all around at the moment. I got my hands on some jdm 96 itr front and rear knuckles/trailing arms complete wirh calipers brackets etc even the front ucas and parking brake cables.

im planning to use those trailing arms to convert from drums to discs in the rear. The ones on the car are rusty and bushings are shot. The thing is i dont want nothing to do with 4x114.

so my first question is can i just get rs or gsr hubs/bearings and rotors and slap em on there? If so can I then use the itr calipers and brackets or should I get rs/gsr calipers pads rotors? Will the itr bracket work or will I need that too?

then my second question is what about front brakes? Can I just use these knuckles and fit 4x100 hubs and bearings on em? Then would rs or gsr rotors work?

(Please no flames if you are one of the few) - Not many of us on here have held actual 5 lug ITR suspensions in our hands, and even fewer have even seen the 4 lug flavor, hence the silence. My "research" has me believing the 4 lug rears are the same as the 5 lug rears, meaning the spindle length is great for a 5 lug conversion but will be too long for a 4x100 rear hub, the bearing size is the same diameter. The 4x100 front and rear hubs are so inexpensive, it would be easy/cheap to just buy one of each and try fitting them to see what happens. I would offer to send you one of each, but the shipping to and from would equal or exceed the price of just buying them. Maybe there are some other Honda Heads in your area that can provide a loaner hub.

The 4x114 brakes are the same as 4x100 besides the bolt pattern.
Front hubs you can press in a 4x100 hub in place of the 4x114.
Rear hubs do not interchange between x114 and x100, you will need the 4x100 spindle.
There are several 4x114 specific threads.

Thanks for the replies folks, I had kinda forgotten about this and been focusing on the front in the meantime, expensive stuff 😅

I'm going to follow FrostyEG's advice and order one and test fit a 4x100 hub on there, fingers crossed.

chris, if I'm following, in the event that the hub will not fit, I have to track down either a spindle(would a 4x100 spindle even fit on them?) or a whole new trailing arm that's not 4x114(**** me ive already pressed new bushing in them lmao, you live and you learn I guess)

You swap the 4x100 spindle onto the trailing arm. If you're interested in trading for 4x100 spindles I can ship them to you.

So my hub\bearing came today and everything seems to fit. I was able to slide it onto the spindle no problem and it seems to be a perfect fit. Still missing a rotor to be 100% sure but so far so good.

Santa came to town and my rotors are here. Everything fits beautifully (holy crap the stock integra rear rotors are so small!).

No problem with the spindle, i left the 96 spec type r one on there and all the gsr stuff lego'd on it without issues or anything being loose.

Believe me I would've but I just looked through my stuff and it appears I threw them away. The bearings were shot anyway
