Fuel sender not sending fuel
Just replaced my fuel pump, dropped everything back into the tank, I can hear the pump priming but it's not sending any fuel out of the tank. If I disconnect the line that goes to the front of the car, no fuel comes out. Clearly, there's no fuel coming out of the tank. I plugged the pump in without the rest of the assembly, dangled it into the tank and it blasted fuel when I turned the ignition on. The problem is between the pump outlet connection and the top of the sending assembly. Anybody had this issue? I watched a heap of youtube videos, everybody just drops the old pump out, new one in, clips everything back together and it just works.
I know some pump/sending units have little flaps where if something isn't clicked together properly it won't send fuel but as far as I can tell these cars don't have any of that.
Edit: Fixed the problem. Where the pump outlet attaches to the pipe, I lost an o-ring. The pump was running correctly but most of the fuel was being lost back into the tank.
