2001 Accord Starting Issue
I have a 2001 Accord LX sedan with 2.3L engine.
Lately, I've been having an intermittent issue with the car not cranking upon turning the key. I thought it might be the ignition switch (the white plastic backing underneath the black plastic cover), but I've tried 2 different new ones and that has not resolved the problem. All lights on instrument panel come on in the correct order including the green "key" light that then goes off after a couple of seconds...nothing has changed with any lights on instrument cluster. When it will not start, I wiggle the key while turning and it eventually starts. When it will not start, there is no cranking. However, I have gotten the problem to repeat itself while coasting down the road and by popping the clutch, the car will start. The car has never died once it has been started.
I appreciate any feedback and suggestions.
Thanks

Tomorrow I am going to buy a starter relay and replace mine.
Seems like an inexpensive trouble shoot. If I have the opportunity, I will test the power to the starter the next time it acts up.

Problem was solved by replacing the 'power relay' that is located in the fusebox on driver side (under the dash). The relay was challenging to remove without breaking the tabs. I actually got the replacement at the salvage yard and broke the tabs on the donor car. To prevent this with my car, I used 2 toothpicks. One on each side of the relay so as to flex the plastic tabs back.
