Default Wiring Help 2005 Hybrid K-Swap

Hey guys I'm trying to figure out the dash / body side wiring for a K-Swap into a 2005 Hybrid model, the connectors for the dash and body side that should plug into the ecu are different from the non-hybrid models so I'm looking for any advice or help on how to wire it up so the ECU gets power and the gauges work. I'm not finding any information on it out there or any plug and play kits to convert it. Any help is appreciated!

Thanks!

Pay Honda the $25 for a day of access to the wire diagrams. You can save the PDFs for future reference. Best $25 worth of knowledge.

You will probably want to look up the wire harness diagram for the ECU you are using as well.

Also please tell me you are keeping the hybrid wheels for the best sleeper look.

Yeah I've got the wiring diagrams, what's unclear is if the dash itself can even accept the signals provided by the k-series ecu, for example if the temperature gauge is expecting a 0-5 volt signal but the k-series is a 0-12v signal then wiring it up was a waste of effort.

I'm looking for someone to tell me it's even possible before I start tearing into wiring harnesses.

They are the same signal depending on what ECU you have.

If it is a digital output ECU like an RSX then the signals are the same. If it is a TSX or anything later than the RSX it is probably CAN bus.

Not 100% sure on the Civic Hybrid cluster but if the wire diagrams are showing individual wires for things like temperature, rpm, speed, MIL, oil, charge, then they are probably just the standard pre CAN bus Honda signals.

It's an RSX base model ECU (and engine), hoping to hear from anyone who has successfully completed this swap.

You are going to be the rare few. Did you see the K swap hybrid thread in here?

I am very confident the base RSX ECU will run the Civic Hybrid gauge cluster if it is the standard one wire for each instrument.

The only thing that might not work is the AC. I believe that command comes from the MICU and that command might not be the same as the RSX. Should be a single wire data/serial line between the MICU and the ECU of the Civic. See if the RSX has a similar wire.

Post up the pinout of the Hybrid cluster and I can better make that call. I know the 00-06 Insight cluster works off the RSX ECU.
