2013 Crosstour DLW
Judder/Shudder in 2nd gear plus Highway Speed Vibrations. Just about to cross 100K in my 2013 Crosstour V6 EXL and started having a lot of vibration problems. I have a great Honda Dealer locally and know the service manager due to owning lots of Honda's over the years. We started working this problem through and we basically were able to restore the car to a normal smooth ride but it was a journey. We started with the tires, found two of them had Force Load Balance issues (aka, tires were defective out of the factory, they were brand new tires). Got those replaced...and went to the second step. The car had a vibration right at 70 MPH which was very challenging to running at highway speed limits. From a previous Odyssey situation we replaced the axles and the problem was eliminated. Finally, there was a shudder in 2nd gear between 25-30 MPH that just drove me crazy trying to figure out what was causing it. I found several posts where it was suggested to get a PCM update. Did that and the shudder was almost gone. Finally, I found a Service Bulletin 16-062 Judder from the Torque Converter Lock-Up Clutch which suggested a flush of the transmission (three times) would clear the problem. Hope this helps with anyone challenged with this kind of problem on their Crosstour. If I were to do it over again, I'd start with the tires, do the transmission fluid and PCM update next, and hit the axle replacement last as I'm not absolutely positive the axles needed replaced (looking back).
