Aftermarket intake 97 accord f22b1 installation help
Hi,
I have a 97 accord EX coupe with the f22b1 vtec engine, it’s pretty sweet with only 88k on the odo and looks like it came out a time machine.
Anyway, I’ve read every forum post I can, and found a few people with the same question, but can’t find any clear answers. Lots of differing opinions.
So once and for all if someone could post something definitive about this, it would be really sweet and help me out a lot.
So I’m installing an aem intake onto my 97 accord vtec, but I’m unsure of how to address a couple vacuum lines.
the f22b1 has a vtec resonator under the stock intake with a couple vacuum lines in it, as well as a couple other vacuum lines.
Most air intakes only have one hole for a vacuum line which is meant for the valve cover vacuum line.
I can’t figure out for the life of me what to do with the vtec resonator under the stock air hose.
Can anyone help me out and explain what to do with it? Do I cap it off, T it into another hose, yank out the whole thing, etc?
Help in general for what to do with all the vacuum lines would be much appreciated.
Sorry for the long winded question.

If you are installing an aftermarket intake you can yank it out. Trace the vacuum lines back and cap them off at the source. The hose that goes to the valve cover is the filtered air supply (inlet) for the PCV system, you need to keep that. Unless you want to plug the port on the intake and install a small (crankcase) filter directly on the valve cover.
