NEED HELP 02 accord shut off/running hot
i have a 2002 honda acrord lx i bought about two months ago.well the only issue i was having was topping off coolant because it would run hot....well the ther day it ran hot and made me actually be like ,ok i got to figure this out before i ruin my motor. so the other day it ran hot and i topped it off. well i only used to have to do it once a week but now i cant even drive to work and theres a issue. there is no water no where, not at heater coil, floorboard, oil radiator....NOTHING but the coolant is disappearing. the top hose is much hotter than the bottom also.... i cant actually pin point what it could be because the symptoms are not adding up with each other......on way to work today the car completly shut up, jerked then shut off and lost all throttle response or fuel response. i got it cranked back ip then it started running hot and i pulled back over to top it off again. the car idle fine and everything so i am lost as to what it can be.one friend said i needed to fluch system out and another said i need to get some blu devil and they think its burning off in chamber. theres nothing that comes out exhaust either... so i dont know if two problems are realated or not. the shut off **** just started happeing and as soon as i got it cranked from last shut off it was starting to run hot and was running normal temp before. anyways please anyone let me know your input because ive been building racing and doing all that, especially with hondas and this has got me blowed and would like some direction before i go blowing money i dont got............
If there’s no water anywhere in the cooling system, and there’s no leak on the floor, and you are sure there is no heavy, white, vapor-like smoke from the exhaust, you need to get a mechanic.
if you have vapor-like smoke/steam from the exhaust, the gasket is gone. you need to replace it. instead of the coolant channels to retain the coolant and the gasket to keep the coolant from getting into the combustion chamber, IT’S NOT.
so the coolant is finding its way into the combustion chamber instead of staying in the coolant channels to cool the engine. get it replaced and while at that, check the block for cracks.
i hope this helps.
