So my wife has a 97 honda civic 1.6 and it doesn't start nor try to crank it does nothing other than ding. Battery is good tested at 12 volts alternator tested good. All I know is that the cars abs light flashed and then it just died. While doing some digging in to this I found a wire that ran down to the crank pulley and it had appeared to have been chewed thru by the belt if anyone knows anything please let know me
That is wiring for your CKF (CranKshaft Fluctuation sensor). It has been cut by your alternator belt. Be careful when repairing these wires because the positive side of this sensor pair has a steel stranded RF protection mesh wrapped around the outside shield of the copper wire. You cannot connect any of the RF mesh with the copper signal wire... bad things happen if you do.

Is the car an automatic or manual ?
It's a 3spd auto with absolutely no gut to it. You may be able to help me figure out why it is very sluggish can't climb hills. The car can barely be driven and I have no clue why this car is preforming so badly
Have you pulled the timing cover to make sure the timing belt hasn't jumped teeth or broken entirely ? Have you performed a compression test to see if all four cylinders are healthy ? If you are in mechanical time and your compression numbers are good... I would consider either a clogged catalytic converter or fuel system problem (clogged fuel filter or fuel sock on the pump in the tank... maybe a weak fuel pump).
The ABS light coming on has absolutely nothing to do with engine operation... this may simply be coincidental.
So you first stated the car won't start and none of the lights come on, all it does is the key beeping. Can you hear the fuel pump priming when you turn the key to the run position?
I recently had this issue and it turned out that my main ground to the transmission was bad, and because of that the ecu wasn't getting enough power to function properly so it wasn't running at all. So I would say check all the grounds going to the engine, especially the ecu ground which is located on the thermostat housing. Its definitely the most important one so make sure you clean it extensively and bolt it down tight.
I wouldn't try to run the car at all until you get that wiring fixed up for the crank sensor though. Thats one of the few really important sensors that the car needs to run. So rewire that, check and clean all grounds, and then see if she'll start up.
As for the rough running, I would love to help you out with that but I need some more symptoms of what's happening to help figure out what's wrong. Or if there were any other problems before it started running badly, or if it was gradually losing performance or it just happened all of a sudden.
But then again, it could be because of that crank sensor maybe your car just went into limp mode.
