Icon5 Mystery Honda Accord (made in Thailand)

Hello Honda Tech community

I now reside in Laos and just purchased my first car here.... let's say it is kind of a project and yeahhhhh.... it doesn't look to brilliant but it drives great and everything works fairly well on it, but.... as any project, it needs parts, and here, let's say you order a part and it doesn't fit, well, you are stuck with it and no way to exchange it or even less return it.... and of course, it's a Thailand made car, so obviously, there is no standard VIN, only what can be seen in the images below. Anyone could help decode this? I need to confirm the model year, to be sure, I suspect it's a 1994 but ehhh, it has been sold to me as a 1991 hahahahaha so who really knows..... And yes, I know it needs a fresh paint

thanks in advance!
Vincent

Just from the looks of the car I would say it is a 1994 LX. If so, it would have the F22B2 motor. If it were made in the US, which it was not. So from the one picture this would by my guess. Can't help with the numbers. They are very different from the ones I am familiar with.

I would suspect it has the F20B2 motor, which is very similar to the F22B2, but shorter stroke and slightly higher compression. This is the engine that was usually sold in "developing" markets or countries that had additional taxes for engine sizes over 2.0L.

The engine itself would have a stamp on the front which says the model code.

Concerning what year, 94 and 95 had those rear lights if I remember, so one of those

I wish this would apply to ALL cars made by REAL automakers around our nice cute little planet, but apparently it doesn't apply to Honda Thailand. Even the TH Honda website is misleading on this.... see below

Were you able to look at the front of the engine to see what engine code is stamped on the block?

Honda made (makes?) cars for 4 different regions: Japan, USA, Europe and the rest, called General (information from a site called partsouq.com). I found your car there, you can check the original parts and compare them to make sure they will fit. Here is the link (there are 4 options, I don't know which grade you have): https://partsouq.com/en/search/all?q=ACC1051426 .
I have a Japan-made 1995 EX non-VTEC 2.2 F22B4, for the General region. I order all my parts from Amazon and Rockauto for the DX model (important when buying timing belt) and import them, they have all fitted until now. I cross checked the partsouq website to make sure it would fit. This is especially important when buying a timing belt. Mine is a EX model (for the general region at least) but had to buy a timing belt for the LX/DX model, since the USA EX has VTEC and mine doesn't.

You are doing it the right way for sure! I do something similar to cross reference parts I need for my accord (and other non-USDM cars I have).

Partsouq is a godsend, I even order parts from them sometimes for the ultra-rare things I can't get elsewhere
