i think u should have done more research on the "block guard". in theory they r supposed to b good but reality shows that they suck. sleeve that thing and dont worry about it.

You might want to rethink the use of that block guard. There were many on this board months ago that thought they where the ****, but realized they were a huge mistake after all the hype. Whether the block guard has holes in it for the coolant or not, there is still not a sufficient supply of coolant flow and the top of the cylinder wall for the piston to cool.

i'm using that same Block Guard just make sure they install the Block Guard first before they hone and drop pistons in. Head will only warp when you install pistons first THEN drop in the block guard. Sleeving is good but a bit overkill for that size bore piston. nice pistons.BOOST THAT BITCH.!
good luck on your build.

Well, give it a try then. Let us know what happens without sleeving and this special block guard.

sleeving is a bit overkill. Okay tell us that when you crack a sleeve

dude, dont worry about a thing..half of these guys are still ordering their intake. they don't know first hand, just what someone told them or what they read.
this is my 3rd B series motor built. never has the block guard failed on me or caused any problems. its a safe way to go. Important: install BEFORE you hone the sleeve. i've used STR guards before ..no problem, this is the first time i use Race engineerings' though.
too much negativity on Honda-tech, too many haters

Okay real funny. You are about as new on here as me. I just ordered my first intake okay even funnier. I have a fully built B18C1 in my 01 GSR with GE sleeves, Wiseco Endyn Pistons, eagle rods, and the head ported and polished by endyn with full ferrea valve train. VS equal length turbo manifold, GT 30 turbo etc. So yeah I just ordered my first intake.
