Dpfi getting 18 miles a gallon???
Car is a 1990 Honda civic EF hatchback STD. Stock.
Lately I noticed I've been needing to go to the gas station more often. i looked in the forums what could be the issue.
I seen how to calculate how much gas milage and I'm getting 130 miles on 7.3 gallons.
Before whatever has gone wrong I was getting 34 miles a gallon.
Car isn't running bad. Everything seems normal except it's using more gas than a V8.
Anyone got any ideas?
I changed the 02 sensor thinking that could be the issue. I changed the fuel filter. And ran some injector cleaner through the system. Still didn't help.

Check the timing belt, distributor timing, and fuel pressure. Had 2 do that. One was the belt and the distributor the other was weak fuel pressure letting to much fuel through. The injectors rely on fuel pressure to close the injectors properly.
I read somewhere in the forums that if I have a bad ELD that the fuel injectors will constantly run at high impedance. Maybe this is the issue since my battery light won't go off after changing the alt and battery?
Im not throwing any codes for anything, check engine light works when I turn the key forward but I've never seen it light up for an issue. Is there a way to test/throw a code so that I can verify my ECU is working like it should?

-- Replace plugs, ignition cables, distributor cap and rotor, air filter, and PCV valve. Check ignition timing per steps in the service manual. For the old ignition cables: Ignition cable resistance should be well under 25,000 ohms.
-- Check for a blocked catalytic converter: Get an inexpensive infrared thermometer. Warm up the Civic. Check the temperature at the inlet to the cat and the outlet. The outlet temperature should be noticeably higher than the inlet temperature.
-- At what pressure do you keep your tires?
