Default K24 swapping 350z

Im somewhat new to modifying cars and I plan on swapping my vq35hr for a k24 however I don't know which one would be the best one to build. It sounds ambitious but I want to make 500whp or more, so I'm trying to figure out what k24 would be easiest or best to hit it with boost. Thank you in advance for the help.

I'm not sure why you would do this swap in a 350 or 370z chassis, outside of novelty.

The stock VQ35 or VQ37 are both very good engines, and even an LS V8 swap has more documentation and aftermarket support.

The reason I want to go with a k24 is because it weighs less and cost less to get around 500hp. LS motors are fairly pricy to build now and they are also heavy. VQs are great motors and will take a beating but to get over 400 hp cost a good chunk of money

Aluminum block LS is like 40lbs heavier than a K series. By the time you add a turbo and all the supporting accessories you will use up and surpass that weight savings.

This.

Have you considered a supercharger kit for your VQ engine? That could potentially be the most cost effective and least headache way of meeting your goals.

I know the 350/370z engine bays are pathetically cramped, so not sure you'd want to try shoving a turbo kit in there. Personally I probably wouldn't.
