F20b 97 accord sawp
Hello anyone who is willing to help with me with anything I greatly appreciate it. I currently purchase a f20b auto and it's going in a 97 accord ex f22b1 manual. The engine will be converted to manual i will be putting a H series tranny on it. Will my f22b1 ecu be a plug and play , what wiring do i need or to change, can use the same axels do i need to change my throttle since its going from auto to manual thank you. Im not planning on boost just a lil fun N/A
No your F22B1 ecu will not work. A6 and A11 need to be pin swapped at the ECU harness. You will need a chipped ECU and a professional tune.
The only wiring you will need to add is for IABs if you choose to retain them/control them electronically. Otherwise use your factory engine harness and extend wires where required.
Passenger side axle will be the same. You will need to use a manual intermediate shaft and manual driver's side axle from a 94-97 Accord.
You can reuse your factory throttle body if you want to retain cruise control. If not, the F20B throttle body will be larger.

Aye OP, just so you know, the auto f20b doesn't have as much power as the manual one from factory.....
Honestly, the f20B auto is rated about 178hp factory (about 20 less than the manual version), but you will probably find less support for it since it is not a popular swap. Not to mention, working on your f22b1 can get it to a similar output with MUCH easier part support. I/H/E/Cam/Cam springs/Tune = close to that 180
My take, F20B manual, or H22, or build your f22b1

The only differences between the manual and automatic DOHC F20Bs are the cams, intake valve springs, and throttle body. Easy things to source or change since they're interchangeable with H22 stuff that has a much bigger aftermarket. An auto F20B will still put down 180whp with bolt ons.
I would really like to see a 180whp NA F22B1 that hasn't had extensive work and thousands thrown at it. They are low compression economy engines with a very poorly flowing cylinder head. In all my 15+ years with this chassis I've never seen one even come close to that number without forced induction.

Point taken, but I never mentioned 180whp for a mildly built f22b1.
The automatic F20B (bluetop) is 179hp CRANK from the factory. What does that equate to in terms of whp? 150 maybe? Mayyyybeeeeee.
Honestly, 150 wheel is not that difficult for the f22b1.
Really just a matter of what direction OP wants to go, but like I said, if doing F20, do it right and get the manual engine which has the extra power from factory
